What degrees & certification programs does Madina Institute offer?

We offer 4 different program options:
– One year Intensive in Islamic & Arabic Studies
– One Year Intensive in Arabic Studies
– Certification in Islamic Leadership & Chaplaincy
– Weekend Foundational Islamic Studies Program

Are your degree programs accredited?

Madina Institute USA is not accredited at this time. However, Madina Institute in South Africa is accredited with a 3-Year Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies.

Can students choose which subjects to study in the program?

Our programs entail core subjects to ensure all of our students have a strong foundation in the program they have chosen. Therefore the carefully selected curriculum for Islamic Sciences & Arabic Studies is standardized. However, students do have the option of choosing non-required electives that are of interest to them, based on the program they are enrolled in. What is the admissions deadline?

Early Admissions – March 31st, 2023

Rolling Admissions – June 30th, 2023

How do I apply?

Is the program Full-time or Part-time?

All the programs we offer can be taken either full-time or part-time. A full-time student will complete the program in 11 months. A part-time student will complete the program in two academic years. The first year will entail the Arabic language component, while the second year will entail Islamic Studies component. 

Is there an Application Fee?

There is no Application Fee for any of our programs.

How do I apply for Financial Aid?

Please see Financial Aid for instructions on how to apply for financial aid.

Do I need to have studied Arabic or Islamic Studies prior to attending Madina Institute?

Students applying for any of our programs are not required to understand the Arabic Language to be accepted. However, being able to identify, read and connect the words is essential. We do also offer a short introductory course for students applying that have no prior exposure to the Arabic language at no extra cost. No prior knowledge of Islamic Studies is required.

Who is eligible to apply?

Students over 16 with a high school diploma or the equivalent.

What time are the classes?

Daily/Weekly Class Schedules:
Arabic Language – Monday to Friday (9AM to 1PM EST)
Islamic Sciences – Monday to Thursday (2PM to 5PM EST)

We occasionally have our elective classes during the weekend (usually from 11AM to 5PM EST).

Do you offer Financial-Aid?

Yes, we offer financial aid that is Zakat based.

What can I use my Financial Aid for?

Financial Aid can be used for tuition fees only.

Do you offer accommodation or student housing?

Madina Institute does not provide housing or accommodation for students. However, we provide a recommended list of apartment complexes and hotels in the area. Madina Institute is here with you on this journey to help organize what works best for you. We will work with students to provide Student Pairing services i.e. we put accepted students in touch with one another so that they can arrange roommates. Through student pairing services the cost of accommodation is much more affordable. Apartments within a walking distance offer 3 bedroom apartments bringing the average cost to $700 monthly.
