Madina Institute is not an accredited institution in the USA. However, Madina Institute’s leadership is evaluating plans to seek regional academic accreditation, which can be a 3-5 year long process.
Madina Institute in South Africa is accredited with a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree Program in Islamic Studies.
Our One-Year Intensive has a carefully designed curriculum to ensure all of our students have a strong foundation in the core sciences of Islam. Therefore, specific courses can not be opted-out of. However, students can choose to only enroll in the Arabic or Islamic Studies portion.
Students of our Weekend Islamic Studies Program can choose enroll in the full program or only enroll in select courses of interest.

You can choose to do full-time and complete the Arabic & Islamic Studies courses all in one year.
You can also choose to do part-time and complete the Arabic portion in one year and the Islamic Studies the next year.
You may also choose to do part-time and only complete either Arabic or Islamic Studies.
There is no Application Fee for early admissions.
Applications submitted after March 15th, 2026 include a fee of $25.

Financial aid is allocated for students of the One-Year Intensive Program. It is first-come, first-served and available for Zakat-eligible students.
Weekend Islamic Studies students are eligible for a discounted tuition rate with proof either active enrollment in high school, undergraduate, or graduate school or active employment at a local collaborating Islamic School.
No prior knowledge of Islamic Studies is required for any of our programs.
Students applying for the One-Year Intensive in Arabic Studies or our Online Arabic Courses must be able to identify, write, & connect letters in the Arabic Language.
We offer a short introductory summer course for students that have no prior exposure to the Arabic language.
All programs are open to men & women, aged 16 and up, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
In-Person programs are only open to US Residents.
Madina Institute is unable to accept international students for our In-Person programs at this time.
Our online programs are open to International students.

Yes, we offer financial aid that is Zakat based. Financial aid is eligible for our One-Year Intensive Program.
Financial Aid can be used for tuition fees for the One-Year Intensive only.
Madina Institute does not provide housing or accommodation for students. However, we provide a recommended list of apartment complexes and hotels in the area. Madina Institute is here with you on this journey to help organize what works best for you. We will work with students to provide Student Pairing services i.e. we put accepted students in touch with one another so that they can arrange roommates. Through student pairing services the cost of accommodation is much more affordable. Apartments within a walking distance offer 3 bedroom apartments bringing the average cost to $700 monthly.
